Our next Tertulia will be on Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CRS) and the Workplace.
Date: December 10, 2009
Time: 9 to 11 am-PST
Place: WebEx Only
Many companies have embraced sustainability branding but how are their nice-sounding messages translated into policies and action? As a case in point, Apple has been criticized by environmental groups saying that it "lags behind its global industry peers on sustainability reporting, especially regarding key environmental issues such as climate change." A panel of experts from Applied Materials and McKesson will explain how their corporations address CRS and explore how it translates into organizational ways of working and the workplace. The panelists are:
- Marcus Chung, Director, Corporate Citizenship, McKesson Corporation
- Kevin Greenlee, Director of Strategic Space Planning, McKesson Corporation
- Bruce Klafter, Sr. Director EHS and Head, Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, Applied Materials, Inc.
- Ann Zis, Program Manager, Applied Materials, Inc.
They will address these questions:
- What are the scope and responsibilities of CRSs? Are they enforcers, marketers, or fact reporters?
- How are CRS policies coordinated?
- How is CRS measured or benchmarked?
- How do CRS policies/guidelines translate into organizational ways of working and the workplace?
- Should organizational sustainability be measured/benchmarked?
